NIOS dates and details

NIOS works to a regular yearly pattern, but it sets and announces the exact dates each session. This page explains the pattern NIOS publishes, so you know what to look for in the official notices.

Pattern checked on 19 October 2026

The dates below are the regular windows stated on the NIOS Evaluation System page. NIOS can change them for any session. Always confirm the current notice on nios.ac.in before you act.

Admission dates

NIOS announces admission sessions for Stream-1 (regular admission, in Blocks I and II) with their own dates and fees. We do not publish these here because they change each session and an out-of-date deadline could cost you a session.

For the current session, see our NIOS admission last date 2026–27 guide, which shows the Block-1 and Block-2 dates and when we last checked them.

Stream-3 and Stream-4 online admission into On-Demand exams is open through the year, according to NIOS.

On-Demand months

  • There are no On-Demand exams in April, May, October or November.
  • Stream-1 learners can register for On-Demand exams only after the April–May or October–November public examinations.
  • Read the full rules in the On-Demand guide.

Where to find current dates

NIOS publishes notices for admission, exams, TMA submission and results on its official websites. These are the places to check:
